How Much Does It Cost To Hire A Professional Voiceover?
I offer, what I believe, is a fare and affordable price guide. A lot of voiceovers charge a basic session fee (BSF), which in the UK is currently around £200 to £350 per hour. This is the minimum starting price. Plus there will usually be charges for editing, processing, usage etc. So, this can soon add up! I price on a timed scale eg; 10 minutes of finished audio = £95. This includes editing, light processing and it's ready for use at the client's end, plus any usage rights. Below is my current price guide.
To compare my prices against the current standard rates for voice over projects, a good reference point is the Gravy for the Brain Rate Card. Price guides here are set on a Basic Session Fee (BSF), which is like a minimum hourly rate.
Every voiceover project is different, therefore each quote will be different! so please email me for more information and we can have a chat about your requirements. This rate guide is based on non-broadcast, self directed sessions including any re-takes until satisfied. Directed sessions incur an additional charge and depend upon availability. Please email me for details.

For 'live directed sessions' the fee of £75 per hour is charged. Minimum length of directed session is 1 hour.

What's Included In My Fee?

Consultation with you regarding the type & style of voiceover you need.

Full use of the audio in perpetuity (for exclusive internal usage only).

My professional studio time to record and edit the audio.

My professional performance as many times as required in one session.

File splitting: Up to 5 files per project.

RAW audio of the session if required.

Delivery within 24 hours or less for small projects.

Broadcast quality 32bit WAV file or file format of your choice.

Unlimited revisions until completely happy for projects up to 20 minutes.
Unlimited revisions small to medium sized projects, as long as they are not necessitated by changes in the script after the initial audio was recorded. See T&C's for more information.
Usage
If the voiceover is going to be used for anything other than internal usage, then a usage fee will apply according to that particular usage requirement. Voice-over usage fees are based on a number of variables:

The medium: radio, television, internet.

The market: local, national, international.

The length and type of project. 3, 6, 12 months etc.

The size of the project: One single recording or several recordings over a period of time. For example: Product campaign. Series of 'How To' or training course etc.

The use of the audio: Local radio, Internet, In flight, Museum etc
If you don’t know the scale of the campaign, then the usage fee would be added on top, at 100% of the project fee per 12 months usage.
So for example:
Project fee = £120 + 100% (£120) for 12 months usage rights. Total cost: £240
For TV content, knowing the size of your campaign, (like the number of TVRS) will allow me to use usefee.tv Just put in the cost for the voiceover project in the BSF box and add the amount of TVR's to give you a ballpark quote for this type of usage.
Audio Tour Guide: Usage fees are needed depending on the actual usage of the voiceover. For example: If used for visitor attractions where a fee is paid by the visitor, then a usage fee will be added. There is also a 'Buy Out' option, where the complete audio can be bought for a one time fee and would last up to 12 months usage. After that either a buy out again using the same audio as original. Or a brand new recording with a new quote. Always happy to negotiate with this type of work so please get in touch for a chat!
